Yep, more fallout from the Infinity Ward troubles earlier this week.
It seems Activision sent out an internal memo asking for any evidence that ex-studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella were secretly looking for a suitor outside the company for another Modern Warfare game.
Time for bullet points! Selections from the memo come courtesy G4TV.com and will magically appear after the jump.

Those who have booted up Valve’s Steam service in the last couple of days may have noticed a rather random update for 2007’s masterpiece Portal.
Shacknews has done some substantial digging and their findings may just point to an upcoming announcement to Portal 2. The patch added a new achievement that unlocks when the player places the radio on the red button during the first level of the game. After unlocking the “Transmission Received” achievement, the radio will disperse a stream of Morse code.

Seeing those first screens of Disney’s up-and-coming Epic Mickey for the first time, I couldn’t help but gnash my teeth in anticipation. It looked amazing. It looked brilliant. It looked, well, epic.
The prospect of playing a video game with a butt-kicking, paint-slinging, famous cartoon character (THE famous cartoon character, really) is an exciting one to say the least. Then I saw it was a Wii exclusive. As I don’t currently own Nintendo’s itty-bitty exercise machine, this caused me to shed many a tear.

Despite a plethora of good reviews, Dead Space: Extraction sold very, very poorly. Last year’s on-rail Wii prequel (Wii-quel?) to EA/Visceral’s Dead Space just couldn’t find traction at the market, selling only around 9,000 copies at launch. In fact, it was looking very much like one of those games you’d be hard pressed to locate on store shelves in six months, turning up down the road in inevitable “Best Games Nobody Played” discussions.
Until now, that is…

As the cost of making video games continues to rise, it becomes harder and harder to compete against the industry giants. Take for example, the apparent stranglehold that the EA Sports brand has enjoyed this generation in virtually every category of sports game on the market. While other companies may make games that receive just as much, if not more, critical acclaim from the press as EA’s franchises do, they still get outsold because they can’t compete with EA’s development and marketing resources and brand recognition.
Case in point, the NHL 2K series from Take Two and 2K Sports. While EA’s NHL series has always been consistently fun to play, most critics have agreed that NHL 2K has been a truer simulation of the game. However, this past Thursday Take Two released their Q4 financial report, where the company traditionally unveils their tentative line-up of titles for the next year, and it appears that NHL 2K10 may have been the final entry in the franchise. NHL 2K11 is notably absent from the report, while both the 2011 entries in 2K Sports’ NBA and MLB franchises are listed.

After five years of waiting for Remedy’s Xbox 360 action/horror/mystery game, Alan Wake, those of you who are getting a little impatient can take heart. UK site MCV has reportedly learned from “a source close to the game” that Microsoft is planning a worldwide release for Alan Wake in May.

UK site MCV has managed to get ahold of some new info on Microsoft’s controller-free gaming peripheral, Project Natal, including a possible release window and price point.
Recently, Microsoft has been trying to encourage more development support for Natal and has been conducting a “behind closed doors” tour for UK publishers to demo the device and outline their 2010 plans. Not surprisingly, the details of those plans did not stay secret for long.
