It’s been about a year since we went hands-on with Demiurge’s Shoot Many Robots at PAX East 2011 and we found their weird marriage of Metal Slug‘s co-op gunnery and Borderlands‘ colorful, cel-shaded loot whoring to be rather neat. Since then, the side-scrolling, 4-player shoot-’em-up has gained a publishing partner in the form of Ubisoft and this morning release details were finally announced.
Players can jump into P. Walter Tugnut’s beer-swilling, robot-hating boots on March 13 on PlayStation Network and March 14 on Xbox Live Arcade for just $9.99 (or 800 MS Robot Dollars).
To keep you occupied for the next three weeks, Demiurge has released a new Developer Diary video showcasing the evolution of SMR, from its earliest prototypes to where it is today. We’ll watch your back while you enjoy it; robots could attack at any moment, you know. And they’re not going to shoot themselves.
