CFD! Joins SOPA/PIPA Internet Blackout Protests

SOPA/PIPA Blackout Protest - January 18th, 2012

Crush! Frag! Destroy! is going dark for a while.

For 12 hours tomorrow (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time), January 18th, we will be blacking out the website in solidarity with numerous other, such as Reddit and Wikipedia, who stand against the pending US internet censorship legislation known as SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act).

During that time frame, the site will be unavailable. Instead, we urge visitors to follow the links they will find on the blackout page and spend the day educating themselves about these two potentially devastating threats to a free internet as we know it, contacting their government representatives and letting them know that you do not support this legislation and will not support any politicians who back it.

If you’re a CFD! reader who doesn’t live in the US, please bear in mind that you will not be untouched by the ripples these bills will cause if they pass. However, you’re not powerless in this, either. You can do your part to help by contacting your friends who live in the United States and make sure they’re fully aware of SOPA/PIPA and the implications that come with them. Be persistent. Be relentless. Make sure everyone knows.

This doesn’t just affect the US; it affects “us”– every single one of us.

We thank you all in advance for your support. We hope you will all speak out and make your voices heard.
