Bioware and Electronic Arts have revealed pre-order details and beta plans for their much-anticipated upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
SW: TOR is available for pre-order in Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Editions, depending on how much cash you’re willing to spend, and how much you want a Darth Malgus statue and in-game HoloDancer. If you’re like us, we’re guessing you’re willing to spend all kinds of money to get an Exclusive Mouse Droid. Exclusive!
The good news is that each of the pre-order editions unlock early access to the game when it launches. The annoying, but expected announcement is that all digital pre-orders of the game will go through Origin, EA’s new proprietary download service. Take that, market leader and gamer favorite Steam!
TOROCast also picked up on an EA investor report that mentions “Beta Test Weekends” starting in September. Bioware co-founder Dr. Ray Muzyka is quoted as saying that they’re looking to make SW:TOR “one of the biggest launches of holiday 2011,” lending further credence to a rumored 2011 release for the game.

I have it pre-ordered. Collector’s edition! Yeah…
No PC. I hate having no PC. :(
Seriously considering it. I haven’t found an MMO that holds my attention since I stopped playing City of Heroes a few years back…
I’m even more excited now that they’ve announced David Hayter as Jedi Knight.
Wait, who’s on the what now??
He’s the voice of Snake in the MGS series. All around pretty awesome, and is now voicing “Jedi Knight” for SW:TOR.
The voices are completely random for every player. There are over 900 voice actors. So, you might get David Hayter for your Jedi, but you might not. (I might be wrong on this)
