If you thought the security breaches against Sony weren’t enough, a recent report has confirmed that Bethesda is–for whatever reason–the latest target in this unfortunate chain of hacking endeavors. Posts in the Bethesda Blog have confirmed that “a hacker group attempted an unlawful intrusion of our websites to gain access to data.”
Nobody knows if these intrusions are from an organization related to those who attacked Sony and PSN, though one can really only assume at this point. Data compromised in this latest occurrence includes e-mail addresses, usernames and passwords, but not any credit card numbers (thankfully). Bethesda has already recommended that users change this information on their community forum and Brink statistics site, while also considering different sites that may contain a similar (or identical) username and password as well.
