The PlayStation Network isn’t the only Sony service that’s been reamed by hackers lately. Sony Online Entertainment, best known for providing services for Everquest and more recently, DC Universe Online, announced the exploitation of almost 25 million accounts and the information for over 12,000 credit cards.

The attack also resulted in SOE shutting down servers for their online titles.

Hat in hand, SOE issued an apology for the outage as part of their “Make Good Plan” and is offering a free month of service to afflicted users. In addition, players will receive a free “Batman-Inspired mask” for DCUO, in case they want to make their character look like a really stupid cat.
