MonkeyPaw Games (those epic gentlemen behind all the Japanese PSOne Classic imports on PSN) have just announced today that they’re going to try their hand at something new: a retro revival. Not just any revival, a BurgerTime revival.

Not content with a mere dressing-up, MonkeyPaw has added a slew of new features to the burger-stacking classic. The standard additions such as chat, leaderboards, Avatars for the 360, Trophies/Achievements and DLC are all present and accounted for, but there are also some new things thrown in the mix. The stages now utilize a cylindrical design, with 360 degrees of platforms to aid or hinder your escape from giant (and presumably carnivorous) food items while 40 levels and four bosses will put your comically oversized burger-construction skills to the test. And in a first (I think) for the giant weenie-dodging extravaganza, up to four players can play co-op either locally or online.

BurgerTime HD is due out on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, WiiWare and PC later this summer.
