Crush! Frag! Destroy!

Hey everybody. Yes, it’s been a while since we’ve really sat down and had a chat with you. We’re sorry if we made you think that we didn’t love you anymore. That was far from the case, believe us.

After 2010 ended we sort of went dark and dropped off the grid, save for a handful of token updates. Admittedly, that’s not generally such a big deal in January, as the industry is still in a post-holiday slump. We decided we wanted to get sexy for you and booked an appointment for a facelift to take advantage of that downtime. Unfortunately, things went a bit awry while we were under the knife and recovery took a bit longer than we anticipated. We even missed our second birthday party because of it (February 22nd, in case you forgot — Yes, we’re still accepting presents).

But now the bandages have come off, the skin grafts have healed and the Botox has taken effect. We enter our third year in a glorious new skin-suit.

We’ve been rushing to try to get everything in place so we could draw back the curtain prior to our departure for PAX East this week, but all of the particulars are not yet exactly where they need to be. However, that being said, we think things are in place enough at this point that we can get the site up and running in a fairly visually pleasing manner while not sacrificing functionality or the feel that we’re going for in the end.

So yes, expect small tweaks to be made over the coming days and weeks, as well as a small onslaught of backlog content that’s been piling up since we’ve been away. Also, please be understanding if there are small issues that crop up in the meantime and feel free to let us know about them when they occur (though chances are we’re probably already aware and working on them). We may even update this post in the near future with a visual tour of our new features, if we have the time. But for now, we’re just glad to be back in action. We missed you guys.

  1. Welcome back! LOVE the new layout! Great work on it- I think it’s very visually pleasing. The new logo is super cool too- great work all around.

I look forward to your PAX East coverage. Wish we could be there to hang with you guys again. We’re crossing our fingers we’ll be able to make it to PAX Prime this year. I’m sure you guys will have a blast though. Are you meeting up with PPR?

Anywho, great layout! I’m excited for more CFD content! *waves*

  2. Thanks! But even more important, thanks for sticking with us!
