So Infinity Blade came out a while back, and assuming you didn’t dwell on the well-known fact that it’s got a rather cyclical structure, you probably found it bitchin’. A few weeks later Chair released some extra arms and armors to keep us playing a little longer, but of course what everyone really wanted was the promised update that included new areas to explore, more monsters to vanquish and a multiplayer mode.

Well the latest update is here. And two out of three ain’t bad.

Yes, before we go any further you should know that there’s no multiplayer mode yet. According to Chair it’s still in the works but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s conspicuously absent from this update. Then again, they also mention a third update is “COMING SOON!!!” so maybe that one will have it. And maybe it won’t take quite as long to come out.

But enough about what you don’t get, let’s talk about what you do get when you download the new content. You’ll be given access to a new area: the dungeons. You’ll have ten new enemies to fight, including the Warden, Wood Jester (pictured) and more. A New Game + option has been added, allowing you to “remaster” your gear and unlock new equipment in the shop. This also means roughly thirty new pieces of equipment. Lastly there are the small but substantial additions: new achievements, multiple character slots and an option to adjust the size of the dodge buttons, thank GOD (King).

Bitch all you want about the lack of multiplayer, that’s a substantial update no matter how you look at it. And if you haven’t managed to get your hands on it yet? Well Chair has also halved the price. At three dollars, you don’t really have an excuse anymore.
