People love Halo. Like, a lot. Bungie’s little shooter that could became a blockbuster almost immediately upon its release and has spawned a number of sequels, prequels, an RTS spin-off, comics, novels, a freaking awesome machinima web series and even a collection of short films since. So it’s hardly much of a shock that Halo: Reach has been so well received. And it’s probably also not much of a shock to see it appear alongside CFD!s other Game of the Year nominees.
So what does the CFD! staff think of Master Chief’s Noble Team’s ridiculously addicting and fun multiplayer game with a single player campaign attached? Read on to find out. And stop biting your nails in anticipation, it’s unbecoming. Plus it’s gross if other people are going to be using that computer.

Dustin: This could be the best video game I’ve played in my entire life. Reach fixed all of my problems with previous games in the franchise, with fantastic new weapons and maps, not to mention the game-changing armor abilities. And the daily challenges are like crack to my completionist mind. I’ve played at least an hour a day since the game was released, and there’s no end in sight. Remember Reach? How could I forget?
Sage: Reach has its problems — see here — but it succeeded to bringing the culmination of all things Halo together into a nice send-off care package, courtesy Bungie. It’s the pinnacle of online console shooters and nobody — nobody — can touch it when it comes to ease of creation, sharing, party play, and matchmaking.

So apparently a lot of us here at CFD! love Halo: Reach. But do we love it enough for it to take the top spot? Can Noble Team beat out John Marston, Commander Shepard, Mario and Jim Raynor? Honestly, that would be one freaking sweet fight. Anyway, check back with us on Friday (Dec. 31st) to find out who gets to take home the coveted CFD! Crimson Throat Tiara award that I totally didn’t just make up on the spot. Feel free to check back with us before then, too. We love attention.
