The temperature has taken a turn for the chilly as the week draws to a close (at least in Michigan), and though we’ll surely be bracing ourselves against winter soon, we can rejoice in the fact that the (figuratively) hottest part of the week is finally here!
Since there’s some sort of obscure pagan festival taking place this weekend, we’ll be busy continuing to bring you a smattering of related content, and, if time allows, maybe squeezing in a game or two.
Such as?
Rob T.: I don’t have any exciting weekend plans for Halloween, sadly. Probably stay home and run a marathon of crappy horror movies on Netflix streaming (anybody wanna form an XBL party?). Game-wise? Maybe I’ll break out some Demon’s Souls or finally get around to restarting/finishing Dead Space. Or start in on something new. Still not sure there.
Scott: Second verse same as the first? My gaming time will be dominated by Kirby’s Epic Yarn and putting the finishing touches on Sonic 4. Other than that, it’s straight Halloween parties. Hooray!
Dustin: Having finished Costume Quest, I’ll spend the weekend unmentionables-deep in Rock Band 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and still smoking the crack that is Halo: Reach.
Beki: I’m gonna be playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which has already turned me into a dribbling wreck, and maybe (keeping with the Halloween theme, kinda) kick it back old school with some Luigi’s Mansion (that game is so damn hard). Other than that, I think it’s crappy horror movies for me too!
Rob R.: Seeing as I’ve wrapped up Gladiator Begins and am more-or-less done with Game Dev Story, I’ll probably be playing some Minecraft, more Game Dev Story and lots and lots of Red Dead‘s Undead Nightmare DLC.
Sage: Catching up on some Halo: Reach, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and scaring my friends with Dead Space and Amnesia. I can’t think of a greater extreme to jump between: the grossly over-cute Kirby to the howling screams and fantastic 5.1 mix in Dead Space.
John: I’m going to start ritualistically sacrificing animals on a dark altar every few hours until Rock Band 3 arrives. I will probably also play some Reach.
Nate: I plan on locking myself in a dark room and playing Valkyria Chronicles II straight through ’til morning, at which point I’ll get a much-needed cathartic release through more Just Cause 2 and Super Meat Boy.
What about you? Hit up the comments below and tell us your weekend gaming plans!

John, Sage, and Rob: I’m literally doing nothing this weekend. Let’s form a four-man supergroup and do what this site was named for–Crushing, Fragging, and Destroying!
I’m probably going to miss my one opportunity this year to be a part of anything called a “spooktacular”, which is sad because being part of one was my New Year’s goal for 2010.
This weekend is, like all, about stuffing some games into my life. Vanquish and PInball FX2 (I still need to take 4 high scores away from my XBLA friends).
The shining star of Halloween is the premiere of Walking Dead on AMC. I already picked up some snacks (no, not brains, popcorn/ cracked pepper) and eagerly await the zombie mayhem.
Might play some Blur and/or Gears of War 2 because of their multiplied XP weekend, but I will most likely focus on Fable 3.
