Okay, I apologize for the pun.
Having said that, a recent edition of Bungie’s Weekly Update seems to confirm that we’ll soon have more ways to frag bitches in the wildly popular Halo: Reach. In a quick instruction guide for how to install the disc to one’s hard drive for maximum speedy goodness, Bungie “accidentally” used a screenshot showing the game as having 59 achievements worth 1250 points — that’s ten more achievements worth 250 more points than we have now, for those of you not paying attention. Halo 3‘s first DLC pack brought a similar jump in achievement points.
Bungie previously confirmed that a patch would be coming in October to add Campaign matchmaking, other game modes, and new Forge maps — could this update also include new paid content? We’ll have to wait to see, but expect the pack to follow the standard Bungie pricing scheme — the new maps will have a premium fee at first, then it’ll drop to free several months later.
What do you think? Is it too soon for paid DLC? Or are you, like me, hungry for more Reach? Hit us up in the comments or via your favorite social networking site to tell us what you think. In the mean time, I’m hopping back in to grind for that new helmet I’ve had my eye on…
