Rock Band 3 Goes Live October 26th

Are you a music game junkie? Is your basement littered with colorful plastic instruments? Harmonix and MTV Games announced today that Rock Band 3 will see a simultaneous release across all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, & DS) in North America on October 26, 2010. Mark your calendars accordingly, you Princes of Plastic Rock.

In addition to boasting a setlist of 83 new songs included on-disc, the game sports a number of new features and improvements over its predecessors. Vocal harmonies (first incorporated in The Beatles: Rock Band) are in, a new pro mode promises to put your so-called expert drumming and guitar…ing to the test by introducing new controllers that mimic the genuine articles more closely than ever, and 80′s synth-rock fans will finally get to realize their dreams of rocking out to their favorite tunes on a killer keytar (self esteem not included with keytar controller). And you thought you were done making a fool out of yourself in party settings.

The press release also noted the various pre-order deals that retailers are offering to prospective customers willing to reserve Rock Band 3 ahead of time. Placing your pre-order at GameStop will net you three free downloadable tracks (Xbox 360 & PS3 only), Amazon is offering an exclusive in-game guitar for your virtual rockers, as well as $10 off a new video game if you buy RB3 for the 360 or PS3, and Walmart is simply dispensing $10 electronic gift cards to those who reserve there.  Choose wisely!
