Rock Band 3 Goes Live October 26th

Are you a music game junkie? Is your basement littered with colorful plastic instruments? Did you buy Lego Rock Band just so you could export the songs on the disc and inflate your master Rock Band song library (You know who you are)? Are you planning on pre-ordering the forthcoming Rock Band 3? Do you like entire paragraphs full of questions? If so, read on.

Harmonix and MTV Games announced today that Rock Band 3 will see a simultaneous release across all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, & DS) in North America on October 26, 2010. Mark your calendars accordingly, you Princes of Plastic Rock.

In addition to boasting a setlist of 83 new songs included on-disc, the game sports a number of new features and improvements over its predecessors. Vocal harmonies (first incorporated in The Beatles: Rock Band) are in, a new pro mode promises to put your so-called expert drumming and guitar…ing to the test by introducing new controllers that mimic the genuine articles more closely than ever, and 80′s synth-rock fans will finally get to realize their dreams of rocking out to their favorite tunes on a killer keytar (self esteem not included with keytar controller). And you thought you were done making a fool out of yourself in party settings.

The press release also noted the various pre-order deals that retailers are offering to prospective customers willing to reserve Rock Band 3 ahead of time. Placing your pre-order at GameStop will net you three free downloadable tracks (Xbox 360 & PS3 only), Amazon is offering an exclusive in-game guitar for your virtual rockers, as well as $10 off a new video game if you buy RB3 for the 360 or PS3, and Walmart is simply dispensing $10 electronic gift cards to those who reserve there.  Choose wisely!
