I ordinarily don’t like tipping my hand in advance of a review going live, but in this case I think I can forgive myself a little. Transformers: War For Cybertron is pretty darn good. There. I said it. For those of you who already knew this and have been enjoying it for the last week or so, there’s some more good news for you: DOUBLE XP WEEKEND STARTS TODAY!

That’s right – Activision announced a couple of days ago that the multiplayer mode will see an experience boost for the weekend of July 2nd-4th across all platforms – 360, PS3 and PC alike. The bonuses kick in after 6pm Pacific time today, so tune up your engines now, as it’ll be starting in a couple of hours. If you haven’t yet experienced War For Cybertron‘s Modern Warfare-esque, customizable, class-based multiplayer mayhem (or if you’ve been playing, but just aren’t leveling fast enough for your liking), this would be a really good point to jump in.

So if you want to shoot robots in the face with me this weekend and you own the game for Xbox 360, throw me a friend request on Xbox Live at ShadowPraxis13 (preferably with a note explaining where you found me preferably – random requests with no notes tend to get ignored) and prepare to roll out.

Or fly out, if you like playing the Scientist class. Flying is pretty darn cool too. However, Optimus Prime didn’t seem to be taking those Autobot jets into account when he coined that battle cry though. We assume there’s some latent anti-jet racism in there somewhere that he’d rather we didn’t dredge up. Yep.

…just go play the game already. Geez!
