E3 2010: Heavy Rain Fans Will Have To Wait For Chronicles DLC

In a decision that many would call simultaneously unsurprising and idiotic, Sony has forcibly put the kibosh on future Heavy Rain Chronicles DLC. Game Informer‘s Joe Juba stumbled upon this little bit of news at Sony’s E3 booth after talking to Quantic Dream’s Guillame de Fondaumière. The developer revealed that the long-awaited extra downloadable chapters have been “put on indefinite hold” while they focus on PlayStation Move support.

So Sony has basically decided it’s more important to spew out a new version of Heavy Rain that incorporates waggle, rather than let the developers finish the extra content fans have been waiting for. I can’t say the decision is all that unexpected seeing as Sony’s been getting more than a bit overzealous with the Move, and in a way I can even understand the choice but it still seems like a pretty major slap in the face. Heavy Rain fans have been cradling their copies of the game for months, faithfully waiting for more content to drop. Now these fans not only have to wait longer for content that may never come, they’ve probably held on to their copies for nothing.
