Ever since Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki and Tecmo had their tragic breakup, people have been wondering where the infamous game designer would go, and what he would do after leaving Team Ninja. Well, in a move entirely befitting Itagaki-san’s trademark brash style, he started up his own outfit, Valhalla Game Studios, staffed it with former Team Ninja members, and set to work creating a new game so violent that it makes Ninja Gaiden 2 look downright wussy. That game, ladies and gentlemen, is called Devil’s Third.
In the beforemath of the industry typhoon that is E3, Valhalla Game Studios revealed its flagship title with this eye-catching trailer. Outside of the fact that THQ is publishing the game, the trailer doesn’t give us much concrete information about Devil’s Third. However, it has been said that actions speak louder than words, and it looks like Itagaki is more than content to let his guns (and swords, bazookas, etc…) do the talking for him. Hopefully there will be more information available later during E3, but for now we’re left to consider the image of a man using a minigun to practice skeet shooting on a hapless flying ninja.

Helpless flying ninja.. you don’t think there’s a subtle reference by Itagaki in there, do you? :o
