Deus Ex: Human Revolution Trailer Is… Just Watch It Already

It’s weird when you think about it, really. So many of the things that were predicted in cyberpunk fiction two decades plus ago have since come to pass in one form or another that at times the once-edgy genre seems almost quaint at times.

Then we got ahold of the new trailer for Deux Ex: Human Revolution.

Welcome to William Gibson’s wet dream in video form. Suddenly it’s 1985 all over again and I’m ready to get slotted with cyberware and fight the megacorps from the shadows.

Seriously – how freakin’ cool does this look? Sure, it’s only CG cinematics and the voice acting is pretty awful, but strictly from a visual design standpoint? It looks amazing! I’m already sold and I never even got around to playing the first two Deus Ex titles!

  1. This just looks freaking INTENSE!!! I haven’t played the old ones but the videos for the new Deus Ex have been blowing my mind. I hope I don’t need to play the old ones to enjoy this one!

  2. From what I’ve heard, no – they’re kind of rebooting the series with this one. I own the original on PS2 but just never got around to playing it. Never grabbed the sequel though.

  3. Rebooting the series… I like it! I can never get enough sci-fi ish stuff. The date was what, 2027 in the video though? I don’t think we’ll be THAT advanced by then…

  4. I often call the original Deus Ex “my favorite game of all time”. Second one was good but not nearly as good as the first. This new one is a prequel. I’m glad…this way it doesn’t have to try to be what the original was.

I’m really looking forward to seeing more on this one. Whoever is responsible for the art design should get a raise or three, because the look of it is pretty amazing!
