What’s this? You’ll soon be able to watch television content on your TV?!

If Gear Live’s report is to be trusted, Xbox Live members will soon be able to stream Hulu content directly to their console, ala Netflix.

The article suggests that the service will require a separate subscription, possibly through Hulu.com or by using Microsoft Points. We’ll be sure of the rumor’s validity at Microsoft’s E3 press conference on June 14 at 10:00 AM PST. Crush! Frag! Destroy! will be live-blogging the event, so be sure to tune in.

I’m really not interested in paying for a subscription when I can watch it on my computer (or just dvr a show) for free. If hulu goes to a pay model, they better get rid of those breaks/commercials.

Besides some of my hulu viewing is at work (shhh!) . I don’t really use Hulu @ home very often either. I maybe watch 1-3 hours a week total – so in all a subscription is not really for me.

That got me thinking though – do any of the smart phones that are out right now have the ability to use hulu? An on the go subscription on the iphone/ipod etc might actually work.

this would be awesome if I didn’t already have a computer (mac mini, currently) hooked up to my TV. I suppose the majority of people are not there yet though, right? this is the appeal?

Though if Hulu goes to a pay model I dont know how much I’d use it cause honestly – I just dont watch enough to justify a subscription to it or any channels it has.

Is this kind of like the neflix thing where you can get it – but you have to pay a sub to have it and have to xbox live gold as well? Or did I totally misunderstand netflix on the xbox?
