I think it’s safe to say the God of War Collection was a resounding success. Being able to play two great games, in HD, with trophy support on a system that at one time could play said games anyway but can’t anymore was really a no-brainer. Well it looks like Sony might be planning to make a habit out of HD collections, since Kotaku was informed by one of their readers that the company has actually been collecting opinions on the matter in a God of War survey.

This, coupled with the recent rumor involving a kid with horns and some very large stone/grass creatures, means they just may be on to something. I have to say, the concept of finally being able to play some great PS2 games on my PS3 (stupid removal of backwards-compatibility… *grumble*grumble*) in HD and all that is very appealing. I’m not sure if it could get any better than Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, but I’m certainly willing to keep an open mind.

And for once a company making a shameless grab for money ends up benefiting the consumer as well. Yay, Capitalism!

  1. And…. that’s why backwards-compatibility was taken out. Stay tuned for when they announced downloadable PS2 titles!

  2. At this point I’ll take what I can get. :P
