While such a potential vortex of awesome has been spoken of in hushed tones in the past, it seems that speculation is ramping up again that Fumito Ueda and Team Ico are cooking up a remastered HD package of PS2 favorites Ico and Shadow of the Colossus for PlayStation 3 for a potential Q1 2011 release. Needless to say, this may well be one of the best things since the invention of cheese in aerosol spray cans and the indoor toilet (both of which, I’m told, came into being at roughly the same time).
The renewed rumors come via two sources: VG247 and The SixthAxis. Neither of which have been confirmed (obviously, hence the rumor status) but we tend to know how these pre-E3 rumors go – they end up being true more often than not.
Taking an obvious note from the remastered God of War Collection that preceded God of War III‘s release, it seems likely that such a move would be coupled with a possible final release date for The Last Guardian when E3 2010 rolls around. We can only hope. Should these rumors prove true and we get a new visual spit-shine on these classics (and possible framerate fix for Shadow of the Colossus) I would officially allow Fumito Ueda to bear my all of my children.
Japanese men have wombs, right?
Guys?

That would indeed be the most incredible thing ever. EVER.
