Last week’s GameStop ad leak is this week’s official confirmation from Nintendo. As expected, the rumors proved correct and The Big N is releasing a bundle package in North America on May 9th which includes Wii Sports Resort and a Wii MotionPlus, along with the usual Wii Sports, sensor bar, requisite dangly wire bits and all that.
Oh, and did we mention it’s all in black?
That’s right! Those few holdouts among you who never picked up a Wii because you were angry that it would clash with your TV and your entertainment center (we know how long you had to wait for the 360 Elite – that debacle wasn’t pretty) can finally rest easy. Your home media center will still remain as black as the inside of a goth’s empty heart, sucking in all light that dares venture close.
Pricing for the bundle (which is also available in the much less hardcore white) will remain the same – $199.99 – so this isn’t a huge bargain, really. You’re basically just getting Wii Sports Resort (which comes with a MotionPlus) for free. Still, if you held out this long, it’s not a bad time to jump on it. Heck, if I didn’t already own both the console and Wii Sports Resort, I’d consider it, seeing as I’m a fan of sleek, monochromatic entertainment centers myself.
What about you guys? Is this the tipping point you’ve been waiting for? Let us know below!
