Regardless of what you plan to battle – Pocket Monsters, Greek gods or Darkspawn – it’s going to be a pretty good week for beating the crap out of stuff. Who would have thought we’d have a line-up this decent in March? Are you finally learning something, game publishers? Have you figured out yet that we want games to play throughout the year, instead of just September through December? If it takes a yearly Call of Duty release in order to keep them spreading releases all around the calender like this then I more than heartily support it. Do your worst, Activision!
Erm… perhaps I shouldn’t be saying that exactly. Who knows what Bobby Kotick has brewing in the darkness of his torture chambers, deep beneath Castle Bizzivision? I shudder at the thought.
However, there are a hell of a lot of cool looking releases to sample this week. The aforementioned Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver, God of War III and Dragon Age: Origins – Awakenings stand out as the obvious highlights, but there’s certainly more. The supposedly final Command & Conquer title is rolling out, along with two from Sega (Resonance of Fate and the long-awaited Infinite Space), Russian FPS adventure Metro 2033, and the HD remake of Rare’s N64 classic Perfect Dark on Xbox Live Arcade.

Oh man, I cannot WAIT to play me some Resonance of Fate. I’m also anxious about Infinite Space, and Metro 2033 looks very interesting to me…

I’m 10 hours into the romp that is Pokemon Heart Gold. I hit the 110 hour mark in Pearl, so I expect to get more than my money’s worth out of this one.
Picking up Dragon Age – Awakening and Infinite Space tomorrow. Won’t be starting them right away though – need to finish BioShock 2 before jumping into Dragon Age.
Interested in both Metro 2033 and resonance of Fate…but they’ll probably have to wait until next week. I can only pick up so many games in one week!
