Calling Dev Diary Discusses J-Horror Versus Western Gore

As any fan of Japanese horror flicks can tell you, the best scares come more from the steady, inexorable building of unsettling atmosphere and tension rather than cheap jump shocks or gratuitous blood and guts. Little doubt then that the team behind Hudson Soft’s Calling would cleave close to their inspirations in these films; the game quite obviously owes a debt to J-horro classics like One Missed Call or Ju-On.

Kazufumi Shimizu, the game’s Director, and Design and Concept head Takeshi Inomata talk about what we can expect when Calling comes to Wii next month. Enjoy!
