Alpha Protocol, Obsidian’s super-spy RPG, went through some serious last minute reassignment in late 2009. Originally scheduled for October, it got shuttled off to some new top secret assignment less than a month before it was due to deploy, leading some to wonder if it wasn’t quite as ready for the field as we’d been led to believe.
Well, last week Sega finally declassified some new documents surrounding the game, including a new trailer, batch of screenshots and a (hopefully) finalized release date. You can view the trailer above. Hit the jump for the screens and dates.
Sega and Obsidian confirmed with IGN that Alpha Protocol will be due out in North America on June 1st, while Australia and Europe will be getting it a few days sooner; May 27th and 28th, respectively.
So what do you think? Are you still excited to channel your inner Jason Bourne or Jack Bauer? Or has the long wait dulled your keen, secret agent instincts? Let us know in the comments below and stick around CFD! for more upcoming Alpha Protocol coverage. This post will self-destruct in 5… 4… 3…

This is one of the games I’ve been looking forward to. I’m normally under a strict blackout with these things, as to not have even the tiniest detail spoiled but I’ve been catching the gameplay videos as they appear on Xbox Live.
I was happy to see it get bumped back, since the publishes have been known to push Obsidian games into stores a little before they’re ready. I’m even happier to see it get a new release date.
I really want to check out this game!
