Do you own BioShock 2? Do you plan to own it? Are you hoping for more content now that you’ve completed the single player game and/or have lost most of your evenings in the multiplayer? Well then, as my good friend (read: idol that I like to stalk on the weekends) Professor Hubert Farnsworth is fond of saying: “Good news, everyone!”

The first snippets of 2K Games’ DLC agenda have just been revealed, and I’d be shocked if it didn’t make their fans ecstatic. Their first DLC, titled the “Sinclair Solutions Test Pack”, will be available in March and comes with a plethora of multiplayer additions.

The following will be available for a measly $5 (or 400 MS Points).

  • Rank Increase to level 50 with Rank Rewards
  • New playable characters Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca
  • 20 new trials*
  • A third weapon upgrade for each weapon
  • Five additional masks*

*Some items are only available after a player achieves a rank of 41 or higher.

Some time after that (in the “coming months” according to 2K) players can also expect some new DLC for BioShock 2‘s single player game. No specific details have been giving about this single player add-on other than the inclusion of “more narrative, new tools and new challenges.”

I’m sure there will be no shortage of naysayers complaining about the DLC coming out “too soon” or that it “should have been included with the original game,” but it certainly has me excited. Say what you will, but I think this shows that 2K does indeed care about the fans.
