Believe it or not, the long wait is almost over! First announced almost five years ago at E3 2005, Remedy’s psychological thriller, Alan Wake, is due to hit Xbox 360 on May 18th (May 21st in Europe). Note that I said “Xbox 360″ there and not “Xbox 360 and PC”? Yeah, there’s a reason for that.
The PC version’s been cancelled.
Yes, according to Strategy Informer, a Microsoft spokesperson said that console was quite simply the way to experience Alan Wake, long-suffering PC fans be damned.
“Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience “Alan Wake” was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform”
Hear that, PC gamers? Your platform is not the most compelling way to experience this game. How does that make you feel? Sad? Angry? Vaguely indifferent? Vent your rage on us in the comments below. And don’t forget to stay tuned for more Alan Wake info out of X10 here at CFD!

A serious “Fuck You PC” from Microsoft Games. Really, really sad.
