Developer id’s new parent company, ZeniMax Media, has apparently wrangled the studio’s next title, Rage, away from publisher Electronic Arts.

The partnership between EA and id was announced prior to ZeniMax’s acquisition of the revered developer and until now, it seemed the agreement would continue.

There’s no official word whether EA dumped the title as part of its vast project abortion last month, but the change in publishers won’t be affecting the game’s development.

ZeniMax will assign Rage’s publishing duties to Bethesda Softworks, the company behind Fallout 3.

One thing is for certain, Bethesda needs some serious help in their publishing portfolio after releasing sparkling gems Wet and Rogue Warrior earlier this year. Rage is shooting for a 2010 launch.
