Have you ever wanted to check out Warhammer Online, but felt that a measly 10 free days just wasn’t enough time to hook you? Well all that is about to change. Yesterday, Mythic announced that they will be replacing the existing 10 day trial with a FREE unlimited trial. Now you can check out the game as much as you want, all within certain limits of course.

In addition to the unlimited free trial, where you can create any one of the 24 different careers and progress (up to level 10) through the first tier of content, including the newly added tier One dungeon, Hunter’s Vale, Mythic is including a new streaming client, where you’ll download only 1GB worth of the content, and any additional content you need will download in the background while you play.

“With the introduction of the endless free trial and streaming client, we are making it easier than ever for a new player to join the WAR,” said Jeff Hickman, executive producer, Mythic Entertainment. “We’ve worked hard to create a more informative and community driven new user experience, and now we are giving players an unlimited amount of time to explore the early parts of the game at their own pace. We are confident that players new and old will find all the enhancements we’ve made to WAR over the past year worthy of their time and commitment.”

Anyone with an existing 10 day free trial will log in to find it automatically updated to the unlimited version.  So if you’re feeling the inkling to smash some Greenskins, or just want to try something a little different, head on over to the signup page and give it a try.

Blah, this needed to happen about a month ago when I had nothing to play. Maybe I’ll give it a shot later this year before Mass Effect 2 comes out.

I’m in the process of trying it out now while I have nothing to play. I would heavily suggest if you try it, just download the game… the streaming content option is just horrible
