November is here, and with it comes the beginning of the downhill rush towards the holiday season. Admittedly, things are a bit thinned out this year, what with the large number of titles that were pushed back into the beginning of 2010, but the holidays are still a showcase for quality titles of all stripes. Let’s get started, shall we?
The obvious stand-out this week is Dragon Age: Origins, the newest RPG from the boys and girls at BioWare, but if sword and sorcery doesn’t tickle your inner elf there are still other options to be had. Activision and Harmonix go head-to-head with their respective “family friendly” music titles – Band Hero and Lego Rock Band. The latest Jak and Daxter game comes to PSP and PS2 while the upgraded version of Star Wars The Force Unleashed also hits multiple platforms. And who could forget that standout of Ubisoft’s E3 2009 press conference? No, I’m not talking about James Cameron’s infamous Avatar presentation; I’m referring, of course, to Academy of Champions: Soccer – the Hogwarts version of the world’s most popular sport, featuring a disturbingly pinheaded version of the legendary Pelé.

This week is all about Dragon Age. Only bad thing is that I forgot to read the novel. The Mass Effect ones were pretty good and I’m sure the one they released for this game will end up being entertaining (at the very least).
Good thing I took a week of vacation. Between this game and the novel I’m writing, the week is sure to seriously cut into my sleep.
