Nintendo, always the most adept company at stroking your nostalgia gland, just made another announcement that’s sure to send pleasurable shudders up the spines of those of us raised in the 8-bit age.
What would that announcement be? Oh, how about a remake of the classic 2.5D racer, Excitebike? Yeah, we thought you’d like that. Here’s a towel.
The news was dropped on the Wii’s “Nintendo Week” show, via the Nintendo Channel. Excitebike: World Rally is coming to WiiWare on November 9th and looks to bring back all the dirt track action you remember. The game will feature regular, as well as motion controls, online multiplayer and (yes, your biggest fear can be put to rest) a full track editor. Now I can create those horribly broken tracks I made in my youth, only now with an extra half a dimension! This has got to be messing with the laws of Space/Time – where’s Stephen Hawking when you need him?
Also, as a side note, does anyone else think the guy in this video looks like Jim Brewer? Totally unrelated, I know, but I couldn’t get his horrific Half Baked faces out of my head the whole time. Way to go, Captain Buzzkill.

What kind of horrible infomercial BS was that? Do they send you some strange tub of cleaning product with your purchase?
Wow. It reminds me of Gamestop’s idiotic infomercial TV crap they force everyone to watch whenever they’re in the store. People need to realize that talking heads never help matters.
