Rumor: Best Buy’s Buy-Two-Get-One-Free Sale
Feeling blue because you missed the Toys ‘R’ Us and Amazon ‘Buy Two, Get One Free’ video game sales? Well turn that frown upside down, sadsack! You’re in luck!
A scan of next week’s Best Buy flier shows them starting up the same sale this Sunday. Any title $59.99 or under is eligible, and you can mix and match between Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii. This is definitely good news for all of you who have been dying to get your hands on some of the awesome new releases that have been trickling out over the last month or so.

If I could scrounge up $120, I’d totally get Uncharted 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and R&C: A Crack in Time.

Personally speaking, I’m leaning towards Demon’s Souls, Borderlands and a player to be named later. Possibly Uncharted, possibly something else. Hrmm…

Also, my final decision ended up being Borderlands (360), Demon’s Souls (PS3) and the Wii Sports Resort pack with the two Wii Motion Pluses. I figured buying Uncharted 2 now was pointless since I have yet to play the original.
I gave up on Best Buy.
After spending several hours traveling all over Manhattan, with a sore back (old injury that acts up every now and then), I had nothing to show for it. Each and every Best Buy in the city was sold out of Uncharted 2. Seeing as this was my Must Have game out of the three, I just couldn’t bring myself to settle for anything else. So I went across the street from the last Best Buy and bought Uncharted 2 at a Gamestop. They had lots. Sure I missed out on the Buy-Two-Get-One deal, but in the end one game costs less than 2, so I saved money. :P
I have to say, the whole experience has really soured my opinion of Best Buy. Being sold out of a huge AAA release like that is borderline unforgivable. I mean, I can understand most of them being out of Demon’s Souls, but Uncharted 2? Ridiculous. I’d be more understanding if almost every store everywhere were sold out, but it seemed as though it was only Best Buy. And that says to me that they don’t care about keeping their shelves stocked with what people want.
Lmao they ~do~ have it, but only in like 1 store in each of the major cities, and it costs a bomb…
And if I could take advantage of this deal, I think that would be the two I would pick too, Rob. Actually can’t wait to buy Borderlands, I think ima buy it on PC though D:
@Ned lmao yeah sounds like a deal – I heard there was talk of a kind of NHS type thing over there? But then everyone got real mad and was bitching about our NHS because it sucks balls. The town I live in has officially THE WORST hospital in the UK (“Inspectors found that between 400 and 1,200 patients may have died needlessly during a three-year period because of the hospital’s failings”) ;S
Luckily I’m healthy and rarely need to see a doctor :|
