Sony Brings PlayStation Network to Amazon

The digital download space just got a little bigger as Sony announced today that they would be bringing codes for PlayStation Network releases to Amazon.com’s video game marketplace for the US. Way to finally catch up to Microsoft, guys!
Although Sony claims to have over 200 pieces of content available, which includes everything from PSP and PSN games to PS1 classics and DLC add-ons, pickings at the store may feel a bit slim due to redundancy; PS1 games get listed in not only their own category, but in the PS3 and PSP categories as well, for example.
Still, this is a nice move to see – offering consumers more avenues to pick up new content is always a good thing. And it should also, in theory, allow us to start including reviewed PSN titles in the Amazon sidebar instead of leaving it empty.
And yes, this is the point where we turn this news bit into a shameless shill. If you shop Amazon by entering via our banner in the sidebar, CFD! makes a small commission on anything you buy (including Sony’s fabulous new PSN store releases! See Sony? We’re keeping it relevant.), so don’t feel you have to be constrained by the products that we’ve actually listed. In fact, buy yourself a new refrigerator or computer while you’re in there! These server bills aren’t paying themselves, after all.
