Epic Mickey Revealed in November Game Informer

1512-epicmickey_2d00_cover_5f00_singleAfter several pieces of concept artwork leaked onto the net in July, mutterings have been abound regarding the so-called “Epic Mickey” video game project. Many said that Disney would never greenlight a project featuring its iconic characters in what seems to be a very dark, dystopian setting surrounded with creepy looking steampunk creatures, some bordering on zombie territory.

Then, last month, Game Informer began to tease that a big announcement would be coming soon regarding a cover feature, tantalizing the curious with an image of dripping ink that seemed to resemble the silhouette of a certain famous mouse. It didn’t take geniuses to put two and two together (except for those few hopefuls who seemed to think it was foreshadowing Kingdom Hearts III).

Today, Game Informer’s website revealed the cover to their upcoming November issue, which you can see on the left. Epic Mickey is confirmed.

GI is advertising expanded online coverage on their newly redesigned website, starting today with a video interview with Warren Spector, so feel free to keep your eyes open for more info as it trickles out.

Epic Mickey, from Junction Point and Disney Interactive Studios, will be coming to Wii at… some point in the future. I have a feeling they won’t be rushing this one out the door too soon. The magazine will begin arriving to subscribers starting next week.

  1. HOLY SHIT. Why do I always get my mag last!! That cover looks poster-material man. I’m one of the hopefuls about KH3, for the record. Though Mickey Mania was the shiznit for SNES.

Is it just me, or does Mickey look genuinely cool?

  3. Oh it’s not just you. ;)

This will definitely be one to watch. If nothing else, they totally nailed the concept with this artwork.
