In exactly the kind of announcement that would make Alan Moore roll over in his grave (if he were dead, that is), Media Molecule have announced on their blog what the next costume and sticker pack for LittleBigPlanet will be – yep, you guessed it – Watchmen!

Due this Thursday, the pack comes with little Sackperson costumes for the movie versions of Silk Spectre II, Rorschach, Nite Owl II and Ozymandias, along with Watchmen-themed stickers. The costumes will also be available individually.

However, one is left to wonder at the absence of The Comedian and Doctor Manhattan. I mean, it’s not as if Sackpeople are anatomically correct to begin with, so even if Doc went commando instead of wearing his more tasteful black speedo outfit, it wouldn’t really matter, right? Odd, if you ask us.

Ordinarily, the comic geek in me would be screaming in outrage at this, but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to be picking these up. The cuteness overload may well cause my head to explode like it would have if – oh, I don’t know – say you’d teleported a genetically engineered psychic squid monster into my house.
