New Releases This Week – September 27th, 2009

It’s a pretty full roster this week, but as usual it comes down to what you find personally appealing. DeviantART members and cosplayers will probably gravitate towards the “title or math problem?” that is Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, race fans will be confined to PSP with Gran Turismo and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge, and you’ll get two flavors of rampant dismemberment with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Dead Space Extraction – but only one of them features motion-controlled mammary glands. We won’t spoil the surprise by telling you which one, however.

    Not much of a week this time out. I plan to pick up Dead Space Extraction at some point but not right away. I had a lot of fun playing the demo at PAX. If you like on rails shooters, it captures the Dead Space feel perfectly. Even the guns retain the effect they had in the original, with rippers able to keep the blade suspended in air to saw at enemies and the ability to change direction of other guns for maximum limb cutting action. Fun times!

    I’m interested in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, but it’s not really a “Must Buy” for me right now. I’d love to get my hands on Dead Space: Extraction, but I no longer have a Wii… Overall this isn’t a good release week for me.
