Are you one of the hardcore fans who bought Yakuza and Yakuza 2 and then eagerly sat and waited for news of Yakuza 3‘s localization, only to be crushed when Sega supposedly claimed that it had virtually no chance of coming overseas?
Did your ears perk again when Sega’s Aaron Webber told fans on the PlayStation Blog that localization was still an option being discussed and that the previous news was pretty much untrue?
Well we don’t want to fill you with even more false hope, hence the rumor tag, but 1up’s Sam Kennedy claims that “sources close to the project” have confirmed that Yakuza 3 is indeed in the process of being localized for North America and Europe.
We’re going to keep our fingers tentatively crossed for this one. Tokyo Game Show this week is due to see the reveal of Ryu ga Gotoku 4 (Yakuza 4) and it wouldn’t be entirely impossible for them to announce the port at the same time. We’ll keep you updated.
