This announcement just singlehandedly increased my interest in Activision’s DJ Hero by tenfold. French electronica duo (and part-time robots) Daft Punk are contributing eleven mixes involving their songs to the game, bringing the total of on-disc mixes to 93.
For a list of the mash-ups you’ll encounter and a few screens, hit the jump. Personally, they had me at “Technologic” vs. Gary Numan’s “Cars” – both big favorites of mine. Now what still remains to be seen is if I have the manual dexterity to pull it all off.
DJ Hero is due on October 27th for all major console platforms.
Daft Punk “Around the World” vs. Young MC “Bust A Move”
Daft Punk “Da Funk” vs. NASA “Strange Enough ft. Karen O, ODB and Fatlip”
Daft Punk “Da Funk” vs. Queen “Another One Bites the Dust”
Daft Punk “Robot Rock” vs. Hashim “Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)” – Produced and mixed by The Scratch Perverts
Daft Punk “Robot Rock” vs. Queen “We Will Rock You”
Daft Punk “Short Circuit” vs. Boogie Down Productions “Jack Of Spades”
Daft Punk “Technologic” vs. Gary Numan “Cars”
Daft Punk “Television Rules The Nation” vs. No Doubt “Hella Good”

Well, looks like I’m going to have to check this game out after all. Daft Punk has to be pretty much my all time favorite dance music. Hell, if it wasn’t for them I probably would have never even known what great electronic music sounded like.
Oh man, more reasons to go and ste- err. Legally obtain a 360. Eleven more reasons, it seems.
