New Ratchet & Clank Dated -plus- GamesCom Trailer and Screens

Those of you who’ve been living under a rock for the past console generation and a half may not have the first clue what a Lombax is. No, it’s not a miniature member of the deer family native to the Serengeti or anything equally worthy of a spot on Animal Planet – it’s a furry alien species; a member of which makes up the non-robot half of the titular duo in the Ratchet & Clank series. If you’ve missed out on the previous seven or so entries in the series, it would take us far too long to bring you up to speed. Visit Wikipedia and get back to us when you’re done.

All better? Good. Now you’ll probably be happy to know that Insomniac has dated the upcoming PS3 installment, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, for October 27th for North America (and sometime slightly thereafter for everyone in Europeland). If you haven’t played the other games yet, you have two months to get caught up. Looks like you’d best get cracking!

For the rest of us, here’s some more GamesCom 2009 leftovers in the form of the newest trailer and some screens.

  1. Damn, I really need to get a PS3. I love Ratchet and Clank. With the new slim and price drop, I should hopefully be getting one soon.

Oh man I can’t wait for this game. It’s my second most anticipated game behind only Uncharted 2. The GamesCom trailer was great. Especially Qwark’s line, “You win again technology.” Haha. Great stuff.

  3. I’ve played through all of the Ratchet & Clank games (even the PSN ones, but I’m not that excited about this game. I mean, I’ll get it, but bot until I get about 15 other games.

  4. I am hoping to get back into this series since I am FINALLY going to have a PS3, and next Friday couldn’t come sooner! The last one I played through was Up Your Arsenal. I’m pretty dated.

  5. Can’t wait for this game. Love the whole series minus Deadlocked. I just wish they would do some sort of collectors edition with a Quark figure or something. Seems like such a loss not to have something for this great series.
