Things got a bit away from me this weekend and I wasn’t able to get all the assets from GamesCom in Cologne posted up that I wanted to. What this means is you’ll probably see the last bits of them trickle onto the site over the next day or two.
To start with with have the first, full-blown trailer for the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade South Park tower defense game (yes, you read that right – tower defense) that was revealed a month back. Enjoy this clip of South Park Let’s Go Tower Defense Play!
So this is actually an XBLA release? I was kind of assuming it would be for the iPhone or something similar. It’s a licensed game though, so it probably has already gotten the kiss of death. I feel stupid buying licensed games because you can usually just *tell* if they’re going to be bad. BUT. I do like the way this looks. Nice and clean, and if it has the same dirty humor as the show I can see it being enjoyable. I subscribed to your YouTube via this post as MolotovCupcake, by the way.
Here’s my dilemma with this. I love South Park. However, I do not love tower defense games, except for Plants vs. Zombies, but really, everyone should love that game. Anyway, I’m kind of in a hard spot with this one. I want to like it cause it’s South Park, but I just don’t know if I can get over the whole tower defense thing. Perhaps it will have a demo. Then I can decide if it’s worth my money and time.
Check out the previous post we did regarding the title – the devs say it’s not just a straight tower defense game, comparing it to a mash-up with games like Geometry Wars. So perhaps that might break the standard formula enough for you?
darn XBLA only? Guess I have to plug my ethernet cable into it to get this one. It looks so clunky and too chaotic, if there is more than just towers to tend to. Like Pixel Junk Monsters. As I write this I hear South Park in the other room. lol
Yeah, I remember the other post you guys did. Maybe it will be different enough. Here’s to hoping that they have a demo for it so I can try it out and see.
