See Tim Schafer’s Rubik’s Cube Soundtrack Confirmation Challenge

Brütal Legend head honcho Tim Schafer is a funny guy – we all know this. But he also has his finger firmly planted on the pulse of video game pop culture. Case in point, this new video.

We’ve all seen the video by now of the kid speed-solving two Rubik’s Cubes with one hand while playing “Mr. Crowley” on Expert with his elbow in a mirror, right? If not, take the six and a half minutes to educate yourself (and marvel at the kid’s dedication to perpetual virginity). Once you’re caught up, we can move on.

Tim confirmed the rumored Brütal Legend soundtrack that EA Denmark posted as legit on GameDaily with the following quote: “This soundtrack took years to put together as we wanted to represent every genre of Metal, and also have the perfect music for every epic moment in the game. It’s designed to be loved by Metal fans, and for those who are not, it will either convert them or make their heads explode … or both”

He then commemorated the announcement today by releasing this video of him attempting to solve a single Rubik’s Cube before Emily Ridgeway, the game’s music producer, can read the entire list of songs on the soundtrack. Enjoy!
