Avatars Come to Guitar Hero 5 on Xbox 360

You can call your Xbox 360 avatar little more than a gussied-up Mii if you like, but they can do one thing that we don’t see the inhabitants of Nintendo’s little white box doing – Rocking!

Yes, if you’re tired of semi-realistic looking characters in your music games, but Lego Rock Band is taking it just a little too far, you’ll be happy to know that Guitar Hero 5 will allow you to turn your dashboard avatar into your in-game character. And if you feel constrained because your current avatar isn’t quite “rockin’” enough, take heart – there will be an in-game “Create-A-Rocker” mode where you can customize them with more appropriate clothes and gear.

And if that weren’t enough for you, enjoy the abject terror inspired by the following promotional video of a bunch of Neversoft avatars “performing” (read: jumping aimlessly around and moving their hands slightly while the singer alternates between two mouth shapes) Blur’s “Song 2″.
