Will the combination of LittleBigPlanet‘s user created content and the tried and true cart racing formula of the Mario Kart series prove to be a success for ModNation Racers?

The second entry in Sony’s “Play, Create, Share” series of titles (the first being the aforementioned LBP) made its debut at their E3 2009 press conference to a somewhat mixed response. However, CFD!’s own Jason Wilson has expressed quite a bit of interest in this game, going so far as to call ModNation Racers one of his most anticipated titles from this year’s expo.

So what do you think? The simplified, paintbrush style of creation tools will make track building a much less labor intensive exercise than assembling a LittleBigPlanet level, but does the vinyl toy aesthetic grab your attention? Let us know how you feel in the comments.
