How does…July 15th sound? You’re clear that day? Okay, great. We will pencil in the looting and plundering for the 15th of July then. We might even be able to fit in some plank-walking, if we’re lucky.

In all seriousness, however, we finally have a release date for The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition. Guybrush Threepwood will be pulling into port on PC and XBLA next week – July 15th brings you a remake of the classic LucasArts adventure title with new HD-graphics and a newly recorded voice cast too.

It’s been rather weird to see adventure genre making such a resurgence in recent years. I was never a huge fan of the genre, but all these re-releases and new chapters of classic franchises are making me revisit my thoughts on the subject. I definitely plan on getting ahold of this one when it comes out – time for me to find out what the Secret is all about.
