kenkabancho_screens_04“What’s in a name?” Good question, Shakespeare – especially when it comes to Japanese names that don’t really have direct English translations. Especially games about high school gangs on vacation featuring eye-lasers, face-punching and insults.

Case in point: Kenka Bancho 3 for PSP. Atlus is taking this not-so-directly translatable title and asking you, the gamers of the world, for your input on how the name should be localized.

For those who don’t know, “banchou” are the ubiquitous thuggish delinquents, usually with some form of ridiculously awesome hairdo, that you’ve probably seen in every high-school based anime series known to man, while “kenka” refers to a fight or argument. Some of the options Atlus has presented go from the relatively bland “Turf Wars” to my personal favorite, “Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble”.

Head on over to the official forums with your gang of n’er-do-wells and take the survey to cast your votes. And enjoy the screens under the cut, you no-good punk.
