Some New Hints at Xbox 360 Last.FM Pricing
On its way to replacing every multimedia device in your home, Microsoft announced at this year’s E3 that the Xbox 360 would soon feature Last.FM support. This service would allow users to stream music to their consoles, as well as create playlists and listen to their friends’ playlists.
What the big M failed to mention, however, was pricing. Yesterday, Joystiq shed some light on the details. In a further attempt to place a blight upon Silver members, those non-paying Live users will only be able to sample the service for 3 months. Gold members, however, will have unlimited access to Last.FM, relying on ad-support to sustain the costs. Furthermore, users will also have the option of paying a small fee to remove the ads all together.
No word yet on whether users will be able to stream music while playing games, but it seems like a wasted opportunity if not. We’ll keep you posted.

Another silly service for XBL, I have been an Last.fm user since it was audio scrobbler. Love it on my PC but really I see nothing that would ever make me want it on my 360. I do not use it for it’s streaming radio more just for keeping track of what I listen to and checking out my friends tastes for new ideas.
I use it the same way, Ray. I never actually listen to music on it.
I’m sure for some people it’s a nice idea though…just not me.
I’m with you guys, I typically only use Last.FM to track my music, but having a virtual radio playing during my games that is tuned to my tastes… well that sounds lovely.
Scott I have a program for that it’s called streaming my playlists to my stereo while I play games. Works better then last.FM even :P
