Achievements got a lot of derisive snorts and dismissive eyerolls when they were first announced prior to the launch of the Xbox 360. “Bah! A score that means nothing; who’s going to care about that?” we said. “Nobody’s going to want little ‘rewards’ for playing a game.”

How wrong we were, eh?

Achievements on Xbox, Trophies on PlayStation 3 – hell, even a number PC games have been getting in on the action with one of the biggest, World of Warcraft, having added them just prior to Wrath of the Lich King. No matter how you slice it, Achievements are here to stay and they’ve changed the way we play games.

But have they changed the way you play games? That’s what we want to know today: “How much of an Achievement Whore are you?”

Usual two week period. Polls close at midnight on Saturday, July 11th.

Enough talking…GO VOTE!

  1. I like me a good achievement and trophy. I’ll even stick around after I complete a game, if getting these make for fun mini games. If I have to jump through too many hoops though – forget about it!

One thing I hate: Games that have online stuff most people will never play getting half the achievements. Whats the deal with that?
