zenoclash_fathermotherThe most bizarre indie game that you didn’t play this year may be on its way to a much wider audience. Chile-based ACE Team’s surreal fever dream of a first-person brawler, Zeno Clash, could find its way onto Xbox Live Arcade if they can just nail down a publisher.

In an interview with Eurogamer, ACE co-founder, Carlos Bordeu, claims that the title is “inches away” from finding a new audience on home consoles.

“We’ve been having conversations about a possible XBLA version of the game and we’re currently talking with a publisher, but we still haven’t closed that yet. But it’s something we’d really like to do,” said Bordeu.

The port, when/if it comes, would most likely feature new features and added content from the ACE Team, according to Bordeu. “I can’t tell you what it would be right now, but yes, we are looking at adding a little bit of extra content.”

One thing you may not want to anticipate is a PSN version of the game. Zeno Clash works on a modified version of Valve’s Source engine, which is notoriously uncooperative on the PlayStation 3. However, this should make porting to Xbox 360 a relatively painless procedure.

We’ll have to keep our eyes open on this one, as Zeno Clash only entered my personal radar a month or so back and I’ve been seriously considering picking it up. Now I find myself at a crossroads, however: play it now or wait for a port with new content. Decisions, decisions.
