Let’s face facts, kids – Tower Defense is the new hotness. Everybody and their dog is putting out a tower defense game these days. Check the iTunes store, PlayStation Network or your local PC if you don’t believe me – the market is glutted with them right now!

You know what else is popular with the kids these days? The Twitter and the Facebook. Boy howdy, I’ll tell ya! These kids with their twitterbooking and their defending towers. Their hula hoops and fax machines and virtual sex robots! Back in my day….

So ngmoco, the company that brought us the LocoRoco-esqe Rolando for iPhone and iPod Touch, decided to bring these things together with the upcoming release of Star Defense.

Bringing tower defense gameplay to a 3D sphere, ala Super Mario Galaxy, Star Defense also has integration with both Twitter and Facebook, allowing you to keep your friends updated on how your galactic conflict is raging, goading them to beat your high score and generally just cluttering up both your Twitter and Facebook feeds with a load of info that will inevitably annoy the piss out of that one friend of yours who seems to get angry over people posting updates more often than once or twice a day.
