We promised you more zombie coverage from Captivate 2009 and more zombies you shall have. And who better than the go-to name in zombie video games? Resident Evil.
In the first of two Captivate 2009 Resident Wii-vil media blow-outs, we have more more on Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Taking the on-rails, arcade-style shooter gameplay of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and adding a few new twists, RE:TDSC adds in a weapon configuration and item management sub-screen as well as enemy evasion controls and dynamic difficulty adjustment.
Playing as either of Resident Evil 2‘s protagonists, Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield, RE:TDSC looks to up the tension ante by bringing a more cinematic, shaky-cam approach to the action. While I’m not usually one who’s big on light-gun games, this actually looks kinda cool. Maybe I should go back and check out Umbrella Chronicles first.
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is coming to Wii this winter. Check out some screens, while you’re at it.

I also need to check out Umbrella Chronicles eventually. It’s just sitting there on my Pile of Shame.
