So I think the controversy of “Was RE5 Versus mode supposed to be part of the original game?” can be safely laid to rest now. VG247 has tipped everyone off (courtesy of MSXboxWorld.com) that the download for the new “DLC” is a staggering 1.86MB in size. But hey, it’s not the size of the download, it’s what you do with it, right? Right, ladies? Anyone…?
Now admittedly, there was a title update on the game when I popped it in yesterday, but based on how quickly it was done – say, less than ten or so seconds – I seriously doubt that the Versus content was stealthed into the code then.
Does this change your opinion at all on the idea of paying $5 (or the equivalent) for content that it seems was already on disc to begin with? Do you even care about the idea of playing RE5 multiplayer at all?

Honestly, if it seems that the code was part of the game, that lends credence to the concept of them holding back to make an extra buck. When I get online with my xbox, i may or may not take part in some Mercenaries action, but I can’t see doing a VS setup. Not including Halo, I tend to shy away from supremely competitive multiplayer games… the retard factor goes up exponentially.
